American Night (2021)

They say fine art is one of the best ways to hide dirty money and get it across borders.  The implied value of a piece of art is always up to interpretation, but if it's worth $20 million dollars and doesn't require a wheelbarrow to carry around New York City, only 1 piece of canvas rolled up in a tube, it's definitely a coveted item by anyone who knows about.  In this noir thriller, we follow a group of characters who are enmeshed into the underworld of New York City in one way or another.  John Kaplan (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) is a former forger who has turned into a legit art dealer with his own gallery.  Michael Rubino (Emile Hirsch) is a painter first and a gangster second, who just lost his father and is a bit on edge.  Vincent (Jeremy Piven) a stuntman who thinks he's a master in the art of ninjitsu, but most importantly the strangely seductive art curator in the middle of it all, Sarah (Paz Vega).  This motley crew of intersecting weirdos are all in hunt for one of the most famous modern art masterpieces of all time, Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe silk screen aka The Marilyn Diptych, which has surfaced after years of being missing.  Each one of them thinks they have ownership of the painting in one way or another, so let the bloodbaths begin as they toggle for ownership.  This Neo-Noir has an impressive bevy of beauties getting naked too, with Lee Levi and Annabelle Belmondo making their Nude-Comer debuts, as well as Yoana Kircheva dancing in a bikini.  It's Paz Vega coming in with her first nude scene in a couple years that really perk up your little art critic!
