The original Sleepaway Camp (1983) is one of the greatest mindblowers of the slasher genre, with a true shocker of an ending that needs to be seen to be believed. Set five years after that one, the sequel, Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988), starts with a spoiler, exposing the secretly trans identity of the first film's killer and stating that they had completed a sex-change operation and have been recently released from a hospital for the criminally insane. Felissa Rose got replaced by The Boss' sister, Pamela Sprinsteen as the serial killer Angela Baker, who is now working at a summer camp under a fake name. Angela doesn't like one of the campers (Heather Binion) who keeps talking about the killings she did in the first film, so she murders her with a log, then starts offing all the campers who won't accept Angela's alibi about where the dead girl went, and who refuse to stop canoodling with the camp's boys. Then the camp fires her for sending too many kids home, so she gets mad and starts slaughtering some of the higher ups too. From battery acid and immolation to dropping a beehive onto a girl's head, Angela's kills are deviously creative. There's no wild reveal like in the legendary original, but there is some great revealing. In her first and only nudity onscreen, big-breasted, curly haired blonde Valerie Hartman shows off her hidden talents in three scenes. Once while bouncing on top of some dude's wood deep in the woods, once while waking up topless and showing all the young girls what they could only aspire to, and once while doing a dude in the bathroom. Weirdly, in Sleepaway Camp 3 Valerie comes back as the director's assistant and a "raccoon wrangler" but not as an actress. Bet the director thought keeping her around could get him a little action! Soap star Susan Marie Snyder is also a one-mam wonder as she lifts her shirt and lets her big girls out to play. Guess that really makes her a two-mam wonder, and they're both wonderful. It might not be as famous as the original, but with all those camps scamps showing their hooters, you won't be able to look away from Sleepaway Camp II!
