Welcome to a new series here at Mr. Skin where we take a look at Hollywood's Golden Age...its NUDE Golden Age. We are considering The Golden Age of Nudity in film to be the 1980s, specifically the early 80s. After our weekly deep dive, you will be inclined to agree. This week we are going to take a look at 1982's The Last American Virgin and its iconic nude scenes.
This 1982 film was a remake of an Israeli movie known to the US as Lemon Popsicle. That 1978 film focused on some young men who feel the need to lose their virginity. They spend their time meeting horny young women while also balancing crushes for other girls their age.
This remake follows a high school student in California played by the barely legal Diane Franklin. She is navigating her teen years as well as the pizza delivery boy who wants to bang. Diane tries to explore her sexuality with the pizza boy. She bounces her boobies when making out with a very lucky dude. How's that for a delivery? I hope he left a tip.
Diane Franklin made her nude debut in this film. She talked about it to Mr. Skin a few years ago in a skinclusive skinterview that you can rewatch here. Diane was totally fine with going nude. She described herself as more of a European-style actress and was used to nude scenes elevating films over seas. She knew her nudity would elevate this sex comedy!
She wasn't the only hottie with a revealing body. Gerri Idol freed her fun bags as she sang along to "Shake it Up" by the Cars. She shakes those jugs!
Louisa Moritz strips down and treats two young American servicemen. This is a MILF to watch as she gets butt naked in bed and spreads her legs on the sheets. She fans herself and seduces the young men with a bit of a fan dance in bed, but she leaves very little to the imagination. That's fine by me. Imaginations are overrated.
The film was not just a nudity sexcapade. It was also pretty hip at the time, featuring a ton of New Wave music that was just gaining popularity in the early 80s. The soundtrack is bangin'. The babes are bangin'. This film from The Golden Age of Nudity has it all.
It was a wildly popular film at the time, but it's somewhat gone underrated as time goes on. Other films of this era garner more attention, but The Last American Virgin is a legitimately good film to check out. It carries with it a foreign sensibility when it comes to nudity - partially due to the film that it is based on and the fact that Franklin comes from a family of European immigrants - but it has the rawness of most American sex comedies.
