It's rare for any TV show to feature nudity in a majority of its episodes, and it's even rarer when a show features nudity in every single episode. HBO's The Deuce is one of those extremely rare shows with nudity in every single one of its episodes to date, meaning that the upcoming third and final season of the show will be closely watched to see if it can keep this nearly unprecedented streak alive.
The show has spent its first two seasons exploring the seamier side of life in Times Square during the 1970s, from peep shows to pornography, and season three is taking things into the 80s. Anyone who has seen Boogie Nights knows that when porn transitioned from the 70s to the 80s, everything began going downhill, so I would expect this series to follow a similar trajectory.
At the same time, this series comes to us from The Wire's David Simon, so subverting expectations is more or less his stock in trade. So long as he keeps all the incredible nudity coming from such beauties as Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emily Meade, Dominique Fishback, Margarita Levieva, Jamie Neumann, and so many others, I think we'll all leave the show very satisfied!
