Walking through my neighborhood on Halloween weekend, I found myself smack dab in the middle of a Halloween parade. There were kids everywhere, and they were all dressed up. I choked on my coffee and laughed as I saw a girl who couldn't have been more than 7 years old dressed up as what could only be described as a combination of Hannah Montana and Paris Hilton.

When I honestly couldn't figure out which one she was I realized that the trend of dressing like a slut on Halloween was starting younger and younger... Here she was impersonating Paris, while Paris is probably out somewhere looking for a costume that looks like it should fit the 7 year old (I find the concept very amusing).

I feel like there used to be a time when getting dressed up for Halloween was about being ghoulish and scaring the crap out of people. These days it has adopted that modern day twist making it the sexiest day of the year as well. Who could complain? A tiny bit of clothes can go a long way...

Don't get me wrong- I'm a huge fan of horror movies (and not easily scared) and while movies like Hostel and Saw are great, I love The Exorcist. What's great about that movie, is that they made more than one! Pretty much everyone has seen the first one, Linda Blair was just a little girl- but it would be in the following movie that she would really "fill out" her role. By the sequel she was 18 and revealing much more, turning the head of her fans (almost all the way around) and making a name for herself.

But back to my comment about the bar for a moment. I know that I have seen a few exorcists in my day, but it seems like the Halloween standard has changed when it comes to grownups getting into the fun. Here’s a chance to be the one character you could never be 364 days of the year, simply because it’s not acceptable to show up to work dressed as a half dead, half naked milk maid. Unless of course you work here.

Then there are the celebrities, even as queens of character they can’t resist getting in on the fun. The biggest offenders over the last couple years would have to be Paris and Lindsay, they must be invited to a lot of parties to necessitate three or more costumes per holiday. I love it though, just when you think it couldn’t get any sexier they show up with even less on than before.

Even the moms of Hollywood get in on the fun and get gussied up (I'm sure they say it’s all for the kids, but I know better). But seeing Jenny McCarthy in a maids dress, Heidi Klum as a vampire kitty and Kate Beckinsale as the Latex Devil I’m left to believe that the inner prowess is meant to come out once a year in the sexiest form possible.

And with that being said, I can’t decide what to be for Halloween this year, so I’m going to ask you guys- leave me a comment or send me an email and tell me what YOU think I should be for Halloween, then on Friday come back and see if your idea was the best!
