The term “scream queen” was invented for Fay Wray, the very vocal leading lady of the original King Kong (1933). Even the title of her 1988 autobiography is a sly reference to her huge pop-culture place in the monkey’s paw: On the Other Hand.
For that alone, Mr Skin and all other fans of fright flicks should salute Fay, but did you know that she bares naked flesh in King Kong?
Even though the creators of King Kong famously fought censorship pressures in order to establish and maintain the erotic connection between Fay Wray and the Gorilla of Her Dreams, it remains absolutely remarkable how much flesh Fay bares throughout the all-time cinema classic.
