We hope that Hollywood executives are paying attention.
As what could only be a direct result of a Lucy Lawless nude scene and an emperor’s feast of Roman babes getting naked and naughty like they’re in a dress rehearsal for Caligula, the first episode of the Spartacus: Blood and Sand was watched by more than 3.3 million total U.S. viewers.
“This is the most successful premiere in the company’s history,” reads a statement by executive vice president of programming for Starz Entertainment Stephan Shelanski. “We are very gratified to see that our excitement and faith in the series already renewed for a second season has been matched by initial demand.”
With a second season already on order, we can expect still more SPQR TA from Viva Bianca, Erin Cummings and all the naked slave girls required to service a stable of gladiators.
But you don’t have to wait for next season to fill your golden goblet with a torrent of bare-bodied babes. There’s a brand new episode this weekend!
