After appearing here and there in uncredited roles in the UK, British-born blonde beauty Suzanna Leighfinally landed a couple of series roles with actual names, Jean in The Sentimental Agent in 1963, and Lilla McAndrew the hit British spy series The Saint. Shortly after, legendary Hollywood movie producer Hal B. Wallis took a shine to Suzanna and imported the 19-year old to the US to play Vicky Hawkins of British United opposite Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis in Boeing Boeing (1965), then paired her up with Elvis Presley in Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966), where the hip-swiveling crooner chatted her up in a sexy black bikini, catapulting the coquettish cutie to sex-symbol status and earning her a ton of offers. Due to a few Hollywood snags, she returned to the UK and made a career out of appearing in various chiller-thrillers, starting as Vicki Robbins in The Deadly Bees (1966), where she fights off a swarm of the lethal flying bugs in a lacy white bra with enough push-up power to amplify her pleasant plumage. She followed it up with Deadlier Than the Male(1967), The Lost Continent (1968), Subterfuge (1968) with Joan Collins, and Lust for a Vampire (1971), where her lithe frame was perfectly outlined in a gauzy white dress that did little to hide her ripe curves and a lot to inspire the imagination. In 1974 she played Amber in the spoof Son of Dracula, a movie produced by The Beatles’ company Apple Films and featuring Ringo Starr. After returning to the US later in life, Suzanna sadly passed away in Florida in December 2017, at the age of 72.
