Staff Picks: Music Biopics

Our Staff Picks column takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version of Staff Picks has a decidedly skintillating angle, as we suss out which films from a particular subgenre are the best to find great nudity. This week let's cover one of the absolute BEST years in moviemaking: music biopics.

The new Amy Winehouse film Back to Black premiered over the weekend in London and is reviving some interest in Amy Winehouse and in female musicians themselves. Rockstars like Amy often live tragic lives which is why so many musicians of all genres, genders, and eras make for great topics for biopics.

So what biopics are worth watching and have great nudity? Here are our Staff Picks for hot biopics:

Straight Outta Compton

This critically acclaimed 2015 film tells the story of N.W.A. in the late 80s and early 90s. We follow the band's rise, the release of their 1988 album that changed the game, and their relationships with other rappers. The story is exceptionally well told and it is very helpful that there are so many beautiful boobs in this movie. Black babes go topless quite a few times

There's a video shoot that turns into a sexy party as the girls dance in their bikinis. Some ladies take off their tops and swim topless in the pool! There is also a HOT scene in which groupies get nude together. These babes are straight outta their clothes.

8 Mile

8 Mile was a surprisingly well-done biopic about Eminem. I say "surprisingly" because Eminem's success at this time was fairly recent. Not only that, but Slim Shady played himself - or a SUPER close version of himself named Jimmy. This film was directed by Curtis Hanson who told the story of Eminem's beginning days in Detroit as he struggled to be taken seriously while dealing with his love for Brittany Murphy and his difficult mother, played by Kim Basinger who also shows her ass.

Sid Nancy

Chloe Webb played the infamous Nancy Spungeon in this re-telling of the king and queen of punk rock who met tragic ends. Alex Cox directed their tragic love story from Sid joining The Sex Pistols and being hopelessly addicted to heroin to him meeting American junkie Nancy. The end of their ill-fated romance remains somewhat of a mystery as Nancy was murdered. Did Sid do it? And what happened to Sid? You'll have to watch to find out.

Backbeat

A lesser-known biopic is the 1994 attempt to capture the story of the Fab Four. This British film introduces us to pre-fame Beatles as the young lads work their way through the early music scene in Europe. This includes their original members and friends such as Pete Best and Stuart Sutcliffe. Sutcliffe has an affair with a painter named Astrid Kirchherr played by Sheryl Lee. This bohemian babe bares breasts!

Finola Geraghty also goes nude. She is an artist's model and it is clear to see why she would be a muse. From her perky pair to her hairy bush, Finola sure is fiiiiiine.

The Doors

One of the sexiest biopics is Oliver Stone's take on Jim Morrison and The Doors. Val Kilmer plays Jim Morrison in this psychedelic look at the tragic musician whose foray into drugs and alcohol gave us great music, hot naked women, and Morrison's sad end. "The Lizard King" sure seemed to use his tongue for good...that is pleasing women! He hangs out with topless ladies like Kathleen Quinlan and shares in drugs, sex, and art with her.
