Speak No Evil (2022)

A holiday in the European countryside is supposed to be an idyllic trip to help ease the mental stress of normal day to day living.  This is especially true for Bjørn (Morten Burian) and Louise (Sidsel Siem Koch), a Danish husband and wife who go on holiday with their young daughter.  While at a resort, they meet a nice Dutch couple and their young son, who seemingly want to be best friends with them and invite them to their house in the country for the weekend. As they drink, dine, and let their kids become friends, Bjørn and Louise begin to see the darker side of the Dutch couple, especially after they attempt to leave in the middle of the night.  Now they have to face down the tough choice of being rude to their hosts or going along with the ever increasing unpleasantness that keeps escalating, do they Speak No Evil or stand up for themselves? Sidsel Siem Koch leads the cast as the matriarch of the Danish family and makes an impressive Nudecomer debut by going full frontal, despite the grim nature of the scene towards the end of the flick.  Hopefully we see more from her in something not so horrific in the near future!
