One would assume that enchanting wonder-waif Selma Blair would be more than comfortable handling fake body parts onscreen. After all, this is the actress who famously sported a pair of improbably enormous CGI coconuts for A Dirty Shame.

But as it turns out, prosthetic body parts are still awkward for Selma to navigate. Unless she's making out with said prosthetic body parts, that is!

In the just-released sequel Hellboy 2, Selma shares a monster-human kiss with Ron "Beauty and the Beast" Perlman, who just happens to be coated in several layers of latex and paint. Selma shares:

"The first time I had to do a scene like that with Ron I did not know if I could touch him, if it would ruin the make-up. I had never worked with a prosthetic love interest before. So I did not know how I would touch him, if it would make a sound, if it would sound like a balloon. I had no idea.

"But after that it felt completely natural and normal and I completely forgot that I was talking to a man in make-up. It felt completely real. I actually really enjoyed it."

Skin Central has a great ideaSelma should star in a movie opposite the more obvious type of prosthetic love interest, such as the one Erin Daniels is wielding in the above clip from The L Word. "It felt completely real. I actually really enjoyed it," she would say. And we'd agree.
