Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023)

Set in the same world that was rocked by the appearance of Godzilla in the 2014 feature film, this ten-episode series goes back and forth between following Anna Sawai’s Cate Randa, a schoolteacher who was there in San Francisco when Godzilla destroyed it and is still reeling from it a year later, and the 1950s where a soldier named Lee Shaw (Wyatt Russell) teams up with Keiko (Mari Yamamoto) and a researcher named Bill (Anders Holm as a younger version of John Goodman’s character from the 2017 film Kong: Skull Island), who are the first to stumble upon this world of giant monsters. In 2015, Cate travels to Tokyo to get information about her missing father, a scientist for the mysterious Monarch organization who is presumed dead. She discovers that she has a half brother named Kentaro (Watabe Ren), and with his help and the help of his techie friend May (Kiersey Clemons) - plus a now much older Shaw (played by Wyatt Russell’s real-life father, venerable actor Kurt Russell) - they learn about her family’s deep connection to Monarch and all of its buried secrets. The only other thing that gets uncovered is Kiersey’s bra-clad bosom, which we get to see as she gets out of bed and starts to dress in episode four, giving us a monster hard on!
