Let's talk about her divorce announcement first. Isla Fisher posted an Instagram story that pictured she and her now ex-husband Sasha Baron Cohen dressed in tennis gear. The sort of corny announcement said that after a 20-year tennis match, the pair are putting down their rackets.
Apparently, they separated in 2023 and have been living separate lives. They wanted to keep everything private because the couple has always been relatively private and they wanted to make sure that their children had a chance to adjust to these changes because the public knew anything.
Isla's timing is certainly raising eyebrows. Sasha Baron Cohen is being raked through the coals by Rebel Wilson who wrote about mistreatment and bad behavior on the set of Sasha's film The Brothers Grimsby.
Was Rebel the cause of the divorce? Definitely not! By all accounts, the couple really have been separated for several months now.
However, it seems obvious that Isla wanted to separate herself from this story. It was likely somewhat embarrassing for her to be connected with her ex-husband when he is being accused of being an asshole. She was likely being asked about it, asked if she knew anything, asked if it was true, if she knew Rebel, etc. She probably wanted to put a stop to all of that!
