Cheyenne & Lola (2020)

The French Sundance Now series Cheyenne and Lola debuted in the waning days of the summer of 2021 with a new twist on a familiar premise. Cheyenne (Veerle Baetens) is an ex-convict who works as a custodian on the various ferries around Paris, but yearns to open a tattoo parlor in Brazil, far away from the troubles closer to her home. Lola (Charlotte Le Bon) is a ruthlessly self centered beauty queen who crosses paths with Cheyenne one night immediately preceding a grisly murder perpetrated by Lola against her boyfriend's wife. Now, these two strangers from different sides of the cultural divide must work together if they're going to escape the consequences of their actions, calling in help from a local crime boss named Yannick (Patrick d’Assumçao) whose help comes at an outrageous cost to them both. Driven into the service of this crime lord to perform a series of tasks that will help them get back their pre-crime lives, both women learn the power of selflessness and sacrifice in helping one another get through this dark period in their lives. Things only get somehow worse when Yannick falls in love with Lola, creating an entirely new set of obstacles for this odd couple. Both of the series leads have nude scenes in the first season, with Veerle Baetens showing off her breasts after a shower in episode two and Charlotte Le Bon baring her buns and left breast in episode seven! Throw in some supporting sexiness from Sophie-Marie Larrouy in episode four and brief bathtub boobage from Lubna Azabal in episode six and these French ladies will put some butter on your croissant!
