Bubu (1971)

A narcissistic cad throws his girlfriend under the bus so that he doesn’t have to go to work every morning in the devilishly dark comedy Bubu (1971). Antonio Falsi stars as the titular Bubu––a baker man who’s grown weary of kneading dough and decorating cakes. By convincing his lady love, Berta (Ottavia Piccolo), to obtain work as a streetwalker, Bubu’s able to quit his job and live off the woman’s wages. Unfortunately he’ll have to do so from the confines of a new, seedy apartment and with a lover who’s irate about her new lot in life. It’s only fantasy, but Piccolo’s performance will make you wish you could order her up for real––the curvy Italian copulates with her male clientele with sincere gusto.
