A foreign film rarely earns so much attention that it gets mainstream nominations in award shows like the Academy Awards. It's even rarer when an actress gets that nomination for not one foreign film, but two. That actress is Sandra Hüller who has received praise, nominations, and awards for her roles in both Anatomy of a Fall and TheZone of Interest. So who is she and where can you see her nude? The actress is suddenly getting international acclaim for her substantial roles in TWO Oscar-nominated foreign films. She stars in Anatomy of a Fall and The Zone of Interest which are both Best Picture nominees. So who is the woman at the center of these films?
Well, Sandra earned her own Best Actress nomination - her very first - for her impressive role in Justine Triet's Anatomy of a Fall.
In case you aren't following the Oscars drama, people were upset that Greta Gerwig did not get a Best Director nomination. I was upset that Celine Song did not get one. The woman who did was Justine Triet. I think that speaks to just how powerful Anatomy of a Fall is and that is mostly thanks to Sandra's incredible performance as a woman on trial for the mysterious falling death of her husband.
Sandra is surprised by her new-found fame. She says, "I find myself giggling in the morning because it is so nice. When I walk my dog, people are shouting congratulations at me. People I've never seen before!"
Much to my dismay, Sandra has been giving interviews talking about how she scrapped an alleged sex scene in Anatomy of a Fall. There is no nudity in the film, but her performance is worth watching. But make no mistake - Sandra has gone nude before...a lot.
The German actress first got acclaim in the 2006 film Requiem in which she did walk around in a little brassiere that showed her pokies. She also took a bath, but kept her breasts hidden. Not for long! Soon after that film, she began taking even more clothes off.
She bore her breasts in 2007's Madonnen which showed off her full fun bags for the first time. Sandra's suck sacks appeared soon again when she took everything off the following year in The Architect. She went nude in the snow to show her TAB!
She also starred in Toni Erdmann in 2016 in which she once again went full frontal. She got a lot of award nominations and prizes for this role and I have a feeling that her nude "costume" might have a lot to do with it. I'm so glad this Anatomy of a Fall star has let us check out the anatomy of her bare body.
