When a svelte Spaniard was picked as the Women’s Tennis Association’s ‘Rising Star of the Month’ less than a year ago, former Wimbledon champ Marion Bartoli of France predicted: “For me, if Muguruza doesn’t win it this year, she’s going to win a Grand Slam title at some point. She’s not waiting, she’s going and getting it, and that’s the only way you can lift a Grand Slam trophy.”

Flash forward just 10 months, and gifted Garbiñe Muguruza was beaming at the gleaming prize for winning the 2016 French Open this weekend over world No. 1 ranked Serena Williams, also lifting Gaby to the #2 ranking!

“I was like, ‘Did I win Roland Garros {stadium site of the French Open}? What happened?” the product of a Spanish father and Venezuelan mother exclaimed afterwards. “When he said, ‘Game, Set and Match,’ I was like, ‘No way. I won. It was like amazing.”

So was her on-court reaction: “I didn’t know what to do, honestly,” Garbiñe giggled. “To jump, to go to the floor. At the moment, I’m like heart attack almost.” Chest the same feeling many got glimpsing the labial-like panty protrusion as she sank to the clay … hooray!

Garbiñe Muguruza {pronounced Gar-BEAN-yuh Moo-yuh-RUSE-uh} was described by one tennis forum as, “An interesting girl, this Garbiñe: strong-willed but still feminine, a bit powerful {at 6-feet, 161 pounds of pure muscle} but still sexy—tall, long-haired, beautiful eyes, great long legs. And like many her age {just 22}, she loves sharing selfies online”—including one seemingly sans top!

“It’s the changing of the guard,” declared tennis legend Billie Jean King upon presenting “MuGu” {as her friends call her} the prestigious French Open trophy. “It’s starting. This kid has got it all.” Any re•butt•al?

“Today, Garbiñe played unbelievable,” Serena Williams graciously conceded. And the winner responded in kind: “It’s so great to have my name [engraved] on the cup. Being so close to Serena’s name [as last year’s winner], of course, is special because she’s won so many Grand Slams. She’s part of history.”

Indeed, Serena’s outstanding ass•ets are legendary.

“When you see people that are winning and there’s new faces, makes you think like, ‘I can be one of those faces,’” is how Gaby got the confidence to compete against the best. “Yeah, for sure, it helps to see new faces.”

And forms! As Tennis World wrote of the aggressive athlete who declares, “I go for my shots with no regrets,” she sometimes forgets: “Muguruza has a tendency, for just one second, to forget how every instant played on a tennis court is now either filmed or pictured, and thus on occasion has showed far more than what she was probably hoping for.”

So let’s Basque in her glory {ahem} as the Lady of Spain displays the heart—and each part—of what makes a champion!

“Well, of course I’m very happy,” Muguruza mused after winning the French, “but I’d like to have more. My dream is to dominate…and bring more of these cups back home.” And perhaps take them to bed?

Here is Sleuth’s exclusive ranking of his Top Ten Shots of the new Grand Slam champ, who says: “I chose to devote body and soul to the court.” These tend to focus on the former …

"No need to lie,” the outspoken Muguruza makes clear, “there is no friendship in women’s tennis, we all hate each other! Literally. It’s very different from the boys.” As the above gal•lery makes clear, so is she!

No wonder Mugu has risen in the ranks of “WTA Hotties” as fast as her on-court seedings: from # 93 in 2012 (as voted by fans), to # 57 in 2013, # 30 in 2014 and # 9 last season.

Al•ass, we’ll have to wait for the December 2016 pole to see where Garbiñe ENDS up!
