A long but beautiful movie, another lengthy and long delayedfilm, and an 80s espionage thriller can be found celebrating anniversaries on September 30 in Movie Nudity History!

2016: American Honey

Shia LaBeouf's image rehab seemed to have begun in earnest last year with both The Peanut Butter Falcon and Honey Boy, but those who saw this indie released four years ago today knew that he was slowly but surely coming back. Anyone who saw this film also came away knowing that they were seeing a star being born with the sensational Sasha Lane turning in an incredible performance! It's a little on-the-nose that her character's name is actually Star, but you go with it because it's the kind of movie that earns that sort of showiness.

Andrea Arnold, who wrote and directed the equally brilliant and under-seen Fish Tank, is at the helm here and keeps things moving at a brisk pace despite the nearly three-hour running time. Unlike another film it has drawn comparison to, The Florida Project, this flick doesn't linger in the poverty porn that film does, making it a much more satisfying journey with the unseen folks in society. The film's pivotal scene is actually a nude scene, as Sasha Lane bares her bush while getting busy with LaBeouf's character an hour and fifty-two minutes in...

2011: Margaret

While Kenneth Lonergan's career roared back to life with 2016's Manchester by the Sea, there was a time when he couldn't get a movie made. In fact, there was once a time when could get a movie made but then couldn't get it released, and that movie is Margaret, released on this day 9 years ago. The film was made in 2006 and due to be released in 2007, but Lonergan and Fox Searchlight couldn't come to terms over the length of the film. Fox allegedly refused to release a film any longer than 135 minutes. Lonergan's preferred cut was 178.

After a length court battle, Fox allowed a Lonergan-supervised 150 minute cut to get released in select theaters. Lonergan's cut can be found on a standard-def DVD included with the film's Blu-ray release in early 2012, but that's the only way to see the full version of this striking film about a young woman named Lisa (Anna Paquin) whose life is upended after she causes a bus driver (Mark Ruffalo) to accidentally kill a pedestrian. Had the film come out as planned in 2007, it would have marked Anna Paquin's nude debut. However, because the film was shelved for four years, her nude debut proper actually came on the first season of True Blood in 2008!

Here we get some nice looks at Paquin's pair as she jerks off Kieran Culkin before having sex with him...

1983: Beyond the Limit (aka The Honorary Consul)

Just one year after playing both an officer and a gentleman in some movie I can't recall the title of offhand, Richard Gere was back on the big screen with this tale of intrigue set during the so-calledDirty War in Argentina which only ended the year this film came out! Gere plays a gregarious doctor playing both sides of the revolutionary conflict by maintaining strong allegiances with people in charge on both sides of the conflict. However, he can't resist a hot woman like Elpidia Carrillo, who plays the wife of the British Consul, and frankly who could? Soon her husband is kidnapped and held for ransom by the revolutionaries, and Gere's dirty doctor will finally have to pick a side in this Dirty War...

Or something, who cares about anything other than Elpidia's terrific topless sex scene with Gere, literally the only reason to remember this film on the 37th anniversary of its release...
