“National Go Fishing Day is observed annually on June 18th,” notes the National Day Calendar. “This is a chance to take time from your daily routine to go find a stream, a pond, a lake or a river, bait your hook and cast out your pole.”
What other activity has as many terms loaded with sexual innuendo? Grab your rod, adjust your fly, pull out your worm, and jerk your line … just to name a few. But Sleuth prefers those that relate to foxy fisherwomen.
Such as fresh “Red Snapper” {an actual tattoo} ...
… or “Looks like they’re biting today!”
And who wouldn’t—since they’re clearly “reel”
So you’d happily be “on the hook for it!”
And while “trout pout” has some negative connotations …
… what’s not to like about “fish head”?
One avid angler recently published the “Top 20 Reasons Why Fishing Is Better Than Sex,” with #1 being: “Your partner will never say, ‘Not again? We just fished last week! Is fishing all you ever think about?’”
Others include: “A limp rod is still useful while fishing” [just wade a minute]; “Nobody will say you’ll go blind if you fish by yourself ” [in fact, it’s best if you’re a ‘master baiter’]; “There are no fishing-transmitted diseases” [not even ‘crabs’?]; ‘Nobody expects you to fish with the same partner for the rest of your life” [indeed, you should ‘cast a wide net’]; and “Nobody assumes you’ll give up fishing if your partner loses interest in it” [the sport is filled with ‘happy hookers’].
As one promo for the holiday put it: “Unsurprisingly, people are supposed togo fishing on Go Fishing Day.” And since it falls on a Saturday this year, “Many will likely spend the whole day outside, and even if they do not catch anything, they will hardly find it boring.”
Especially since it’s the perfect opportunity to erase those pesky tan lines!
So let’s get in touch with nature by throwing out our line for these 15 Foxy Fisherwoman we’d like to tackle.
We doubt you’d want to “throw any back,” but in the spirit of getting "a full release,” we’ll alternately show female celebs who catch fish…and those who prefer to cuddle fish.
