Everyone is talking about Britney Spears right now because of a New York Times Presents episode on Hulu about the FreeBritney Movement. If you don't know anything about it, that's okay. I only became acquainted with #FreeBritney last year, but it's a fascinating story about the ways in which pop culture drove a young woman to act out and how that ended in her father controlling her finances. Britney is no longer the little teeny-bopper babe she was when she first hit the scene with "Hit Me Baby One More Time", but she still looks fantastic which anyone who follows her on Instagram knows. With all of these looks at Britney showing off her midriff and athletic legs, you might wonder if we've ever seen Britney Spears nude. The answer is yes, kind of.
Britney has not gone nude by choice - although this young woman loved to be in control of her sexy image and she flaunted her figure in flirty bikinis. She did pop a nip when she was performing live at her Vegas show in 2018. One of her nipples popped out of her shimmering black bra and it stayed out for a moment.
Even though it seems likely that if Britney did have more control of her life that she would hide from public life, I can't help but wonder if there is an alternate reality in which Britney was able to do whatever she wanted and if what she wanted to do was a movie nude scene. We saw her look charming in her bra in Crossroads, but that was it (aside from a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother). I can't help but wonder - or wish - that she could do more acting and bring some of her music video sexiness to the big screen.
