2020 featured two films set in the 1800s with hot lesbian scenes that set my heart ablaze. One could easily confuse the two period dramas, but there are some very distinct differences in their hot lesbian scenes. So let's compare the two and decide which one is hotter between Ammonite and Portrait of a Lady on Fire.

I started my 2020 watching Portrait of a Lady on Fire and being pleasantly surprised. This French film was gorgeous. The love scenes were not nearly as explicit as I had expected for a French lesbian movie (Blue is the Warmest Color has probably set the bar way too high for me), but I did enjoy getting to know these two ladies as they offed their heavy dresses to show off their breasts. This movie was more sensual than sexual, but Adele Haenel and Noemie Merlant provided some boobalicious relief whenever they could.

To be totally honest, I did not expect Ammonite to be much of anything after watching Portrait of a Lady on Fire. I figured these two are major stars and Saoirse hadn't even gone nude yet, so it was not likely to me that she would do anything crazy. I figured Kate would go totally naked and fondle one of Saoirse's barely visible breasts or something. Welp...I was mistaken. I was so gloriously mistaken!

It turns out that Ammonite features one of the steamiest lesbian scenes in a major movie in the history of ever. Saoirse not only goes nude and shows her rump and a hairy merkin, but she sits that merkin right on Kate's face. My word! I never expected such a blatantly hot scene from these two.

Between the two, my vote has got to go to Ammonite. Again, I truly did not expect this outcome! That being said, 2020 was a year of surprises. It was the year where expectations were turned completely upside down, so it should come as no surprise that hot lesbian love scenes should also do that.
