Biography

So terrifically talented she was an accomplished composer as a kid who co-wrote the screenplay to Harvey Keitel's Bad Lieutenant (1992) when writing tickled her fancy, Zoë Lund's life was cut short by the one bad habit she couldn't kick. Or perhaps we should say the bad habit she never tried to quit, since Zoë was apparently very honest about her love of heroin and advocated that it be legalized so everyone could enjoy it. But Zoë was no street junkie, she was a beautiful woman of elegance and class who took the film world by storm while providing our junk plenty of lookies at her in the nude. Zoë first hit the screen in Abel Ferrara's Ms. 45 (1981), playing a timid seamstress who goes on a revenge spree with her handgun after getting sexually assaulted in NYC. She moved on to the Larry Cohen-directed thriller Special Effects (1984), where Miss Lund delivers some CG-eye popping looks at her rack. Yes, the skinny blonde showed off her small wonders and luscious hindquarters before getting strangled in the flick about a serial killer turned film director recreating his own murders onscreen. Let’s all strangle something in tribute. She tried to make it in TV in the shortlived looney bin sitcom Hothouse, before reteaming with Ferrara for the movie she claims to have completely written and partly directed, though she is only officially credited for co-writing the screenplay, Bad Lieutenant (1992). We don't care who was responsible for what, except to thank whoever thought to include a good look at her topless. After roles in Hand Gun (1994) and Dreamland (1997), Zoë's drug use finally caught up to her. She passed away from heart failure related to drug use on April 16th 1999 at the age of 37. What a shame. Drug abuse cost us a lovely lady with a superior caboose.
