And, no, it is not Melania Trump that I am talking about here. She does have nipple-baring photos out there, but I am talking about Jacqueline Kennedy.
Technically, Jackie herself did not go nude. That is to say that Jackie O wasn't signing up to do nude modeling. The photos of her nude came from Al Goldstein, the Porn King. In a 2006 documentary called Porn King: The Trials of Al Goldstein, we heard the shocking story behind the tabloid porno rag called Screw which he founded.
His founding of Screw paved the way for magazines like Hustler and Penthouse, but Goldstein's magazine - and his antics - came first. He was a former cabbie from New York City who published raunchy illustrations and he was the first to publish nude shots of Jackie O in 1973. The photos are shown in the documentary which is why we have them here as well.
What happened to the porn king? Well, you can't just publish pics of a First Lady's bush and get away with it. Especially not in the 1970s! Sure, free love and nudity was all the rage over in Haight Ashbury, but Jackie O was a respectable, high-society woman. He was taken to court - several times over several matters, actually - and these court visits eventually bankrupted him. He lost ownership of the magazine that he founded and loved.
