Everyone Wants To See Amy Adams Every Week
Amy Adams hasn’t been on a television show since the short-lived series Dr. Vegas back in 2004. But it appears that Amy Adams has decided to jump back to the small screen for a while to star in the latest HBO series Sharp Objects.
Based on Gone GirlauthorGillian Flynn's book ofthe same title,Sharp Objects was once set to be a film but morphedinto a serialized drama a couple of years ago. Now with Amy Adams attached, no doubt filming will get under way very soon. According to Deadline the plot of Sharp Objects is:
Sharp Objects centers on reporter Camille Preaker (Adams) who, fresh from a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital, must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely.
Since it’s not TV, it’s HBO and it’s not HBO until there is nudity, one could wager that Amy Adams will have a least one nude scene in this new series. According to those who have read the book (I have not) there are some “strange and uncomfortable” sex scenes between Preaker and one of the suspects. Of course when something is changed from a book to a television show some details are changed, but hopefully the idea of Amy Adams being topless isn’t something they are taking off the table.
None of us really needs another reason to tune into a new show on HBO, but I have to admit I’m kind of excited to see Amy Adams on a weekly basis. Nudity or not, I bet it will still be one hell of a good show.
