Wild Oats

Review

To call the 1994 sitcom Wild Oats “short lived” would be an understatement. Cashing in its chips after only three weeks on the air, “stillborn” would perhaps be a more apt description. The series centered around Jack Slayton (Tim Conlon) and Brian Grant (Paul Stephen Rudd), two roommates in their twenties sharing an apartment in Chicago. The two get along just fine, except for one little snag. Shelly Thomas (Paula Marshall) was Jack's ex-girlfriend, only now she’s dating Brian. Hang on, reality check. These three may manage to co-exist under the same roof with only minor squabbles and a canned laugh track in sitcom fantasyland, but here’s how this scenario would play out in REAL life: somebody’s either gettin’ moved, or gettin’ killed. Those are the only two realistic options. There, now that that’s straightened out, we’ll go on to say that the rest of the cast were all shiny happy people in their twenties, who only thought of ways to get into each other’s pants. What a shocker! While this show may be as dead as a burro that’s been knocked by a bus into a cactus patch, the skin of two of it’s stars lives on, lovingly preserved through VHS, DVD, and Late Nite cable channels everywhere! Lovely gray-eyed brunette Paula Marshall came through for us in The New Age by getting a naked massage. Tamara Olsen, who spent a few years on The Bold and the Beautiful, boldly showed us some beautiful curves in Fashionably L.A., spending most of her time fashionably dressed in her underwear, if at all. This dark-haired MILF has a rock-solid body that you could crack nuts open on--if you know what we mean.
