The Woods (2020)

Netflix keeps optioning some solid books into movies and The Woods is definitely in the same vein of other hits they have greenlit over the last few years.  Based on the Harlan Coben novel, we find ourselves focused on prosecutor  Pawel Kopinski (Grzegorz Damiecki) who is obsessed with tracking down his sister and the mysterious events around her disappearance at their summer camp back in 1994.  As the story zig-zags between present day and 1994, we begin to see that his 16 years old sister Kamila seemingly dropped off the face of the earth while swimming with a couple of friends, but both of the friends were found slashed up and murdered in the woods, so things don't look good for the young Kamila...  Now that Pawel is older and jaded, he finds himself blackmailed and tied up with a various slew of present day cases, but never turns his full attention away from the disappearance of his sister.  When a body turns up with a bunch of newspaper clippings about Pawel, there seems to be some old wounds opened up that need attention and it all leads back to his missing sister and that fateful summer in 1994!  The corpses pile up as fast as the red herrings and possible leads for Pawel, all the while he's trying to re-ignite a relationship with his first love from 20 years earlier, around the time his sister was killed.  Well it wouldn't be a European crime series if there wasn't a bit of nudity, would it?  So we definitely made sure to find the sexy for you and we get some solid full frontal from Kinga Jasik and we also get Wiktoria Filus in a hot and heavy scene in the woods with her boyfriend.  So come for the mystery and stay for the sexy in this streaming series out of Poland!
