The Offer (2022)

Often cited as the greatest American film ever made, Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather (1972) has a story behind its creation that's almost as dense and has nearly as many colorful characters involved. The Paramount+ Original Series The Offer, which debuted on the streaming service in the spring of 2022, brings that behind the scenes story to life in a ten part miniseries. All the major players are on hand from Albert Ruddy (Miles Teller), the producer who bought the rights to the book by Mario Puzo (Patrick Gallo), before bringing it to Paramount Pictures head of production Robert Evans (Matthew Goode). The journey to make the film quickly becomes a battle of egos with Coppola (Dan Fogler) under constant scrutiny from Evans and the entire production coming under scrutiny from mafia boss Joe Colombo (Giovanni Ribisi), who is concerned about the portrayal of the mafia in the film. In the show's debut episode, we get a brief topless sex scene from Nora Arnezeder, playing the wife of Ruddy who—fun fact—was a Holocaust survivor who eventually became a member of the Rajneesh religious cult!
