The Nevers (2021)

London, 1899, within the last couple of years of Victorian England, most people think of an age of proper industrialization, bustled dresses, and an explosion of arts and sciences all over the world from this tiny island.  In The Nevers though, we get a revisionist version of history in which, 3 years prior, London had a sort of unexplained event happen that bestowed some people (mostly women) with supernatural powers.  Some can control fire, some can see the future, others can heal with a touch, and some gifts are more obvious, like the young girl who has grown over 10 feet tall!  This group of super-powered individuals are called "The Touched", and for two friends Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), they are working to find these individuals and bring them under their care at their orphanage for the gifted.  Along the way they also find enemies that are looking to use their new found powers for evil and to throw the entire world into chaos, under their control.  Amalia can see the future and Penance has become a genius at inventing gizmos, but they are going to need any good hearted "Touched" person to unite along with them to bring down the baddies before they can put together a super group of their own!  As this series from HBO Max rolls out, we are definitely going to be in for a treat along the way because it's not shying away from showing nudity one bit as the series kicks off with the busty Abra Thompson coming in with a topless scene in the very first episode!  The Nevers, should be called The Always (muttered under quiet breathe, sexy).
