Staff Picks: Romantic Comedies

Our Staff Picks column takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version of Staff Picks has a decidedly skintillating angle, as we suss out which films from a certain genre with great nudity. Let's take a look at romantic comedies.

The holidays make me feel so light-hearted. I want to smile, laugh, and believe in love again. What genre warms our cold icy hearts more than the romantic comedy? Hey, I know you watch them. You don't have to act like it's some big secret. We all have a favorite rom com that we watch again and again like it's our guilty pleasure (for me it's While You Were Sleeping).

I will say my one gripe about romantic comedies is that they don't really show much skin. It's romance, people. Where's the sex?! Here are our Staff Picks of romantic comedies that actually have skin!

Jerry Maguire

The 1996 film warmed hearts and had people quoting "show me the money" and "you had me at hello". Jerry Maguire had us at Kelly Preston's breasts. Kelly Preston became Kelly Breaston when she eats dinner naked across from Tom Cruise and leans forward to show a peak at her pair. Bon-er petit!

High Fidelity

High Fidelity is the romantic comedy for the broken hearted. Based on the Nick Hornby novel, this version takes place in Chicago where John Cusack plays a record store owner who was just dumped. He decides to figure out why exactly he keeps getting dumped, so he contacts all of his ex girlfriends and asks them for their perspective. Oooo, you're playing with fire, John!

Staff Picks: Romantic Comedies

The impossibly sexy Catherine Zeta-Jones plays his impossibly sexy ex who was definitely above his pay grade. We don't see her nude body, but we do see his recent ex have sex with her new man in a fantasy he has where Iben Hjejle shows very briefly shows her butt. The sight of her man clutching her breasts is passion is also hot!

Valley Girl

This 1983 romantic comedy is a classic story about the guy from "the wrong side of the tracks". A straight-laced teen who was raised by hippies falls for a punk rocker. While they are falling in love to the soundtrack of 80s LA punk, we are watching her friend Elizabeth Daily get boned down by a lucky guy who has a front-row seat to her massive mams.

Staff Picks: Romantic Comedies

Plus, Tina Theberge and Michelle Meyrink both show their boobs during separate sexy scenes. Tina's tits pop out when she is making out at the punk club. That's rack-n-roll!

Something's Gotta Give

Old people need love, too, which is what Something's Gotta Give shows us. Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton are up there their years, but they are still as horny as the young folks. Jack goes for a girl his age when he meets Diane Keaton who shocked all of us by doing a later-in-life nude scene. This Nancy Meyers movie delivered Diane's first nude scene in decades. Damn, Diane looks good. Whatever she was doing was working for her in 2003!

There's a Girl in My Soup

Goldie Hawn made a living out of being a big-eyed blonde bimbo and she often played the free-spirited girl who swept conservative men off their feet in romantic comedies. This film is one of those, but with much more skin! Peter Sellers play a man who loves to woo women, but he doesn't commit. He finds getting girls really easy until he meets Marion, a 19-year-old flirty fox played by Goldie Hawn.

Staff Picks: Romantic Comedies

She likes money more than she likes romance and Peter Sellers' character is up for the challenge. Which one of these stubborn players will bow to the other one? That's the fun in this surprisingly modern comedy from 1970. The most modern thing about it is probably Goldie Hawn's bush. she is join ed by Geraldine Sherman and Gabrielle Drake who also show off their naked bodies in the movie as Peter's other paramours.

God is Great and I'm Not

Let's travel abroad for a rom com. Where else should we go for skin other than France? French hottie Audrey Tatou starred in this 2001 comedy as a 20-year-old Parisian named Michele who just broke up with her boyfriend. She meets a new man who is also Jewish. She decides the way to get her new man is to...convert to Judaism.

Staff Picks: Romantic Comedies

The religious jokes fire off as we watch Audrey's character stumble through a new religion AND a new romance. I'm happy to watch Audrey do anything, honestly. Those dimples. Those perky yabos. Je t'aime!

They Came Together

If you have seen a lot of romantic comedies, then They Came Together is going to be hilarious to you. This spot-on parody of romantic comedies stars Amy Poehler as the quirky leading lady who owns a small candy business. Paul Rudd plays a high-powered New Yorker who is an executive at a candy corporation. They couldn't be more different!

Amy does not go nude in the movie and neither does Cobie Smulders, but Cobie uses a body double in an insane sex scene that shows she and Paul Rudd having wild sex in a variety of positions.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Forgetting Sarah Marshall was a hit in 2008 when we all watched Jason Segel get broken up with by Kristen Bell. Their characters, not the real people. Jason tries to cheer himself up, so he goes on vacation to a tropical resort in Hawaii...and then his ex arrives with her new boyfriend. It's okay because Segel meets Mila Kunis who has a body double show breasts for her at the end of the film.
