Staff Picks: Music Videos

Our Staff Picks column takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version of Staff Picks has a decidedly skintillating angle, as we suss out which films from a particular subgenre are the best to find great nudity. This week let's cover one of the absolute hottest forms of film: the music video.

I mean that. A lot of music videos push boundaries. They tell stories as if they are short films. Not only that, but several major directors got their start directing music videos. David Fincher, Spike Jonze, Gus Van Sant, Melina Matzoukas, and so many more experimented with music videos before working on feature films. They racked up their directing resume that way.

That's just to say that music videos are their own art form and a lot of them feature nudity. Here are some of the sexiest music videos ever made.

Blurred Lines by Alan Thicke

Who could ever forget this music video? Alan Thicke's hyper-catchy and controversial single "Blurred Lines" was best accompanied by two sexy models dancing topless in flesh-colored underwear. Emily Ratajkowski became a huge star after the brunette babe danced back and forth with her big breasts out. Nothing blurry about those babies!

Pussy by Ramstein

With a song title like "Pussy", you sort of expect to see some. Well, the German heavy metal band Rammstein did NOT disappoint. They hired hot pornstars Jasmin Jordan, Sophie Logan, Taranee Devil, and Jacqueline Back to show there. There is real sex in this video, too! The busty babes get rammed in their pussies by a couple of rodsteins!

Justify My Love by Madonna

Believe it or not, Madonna's "Justify My Love" was considered too controversial for MTV. The video was supposed to debut as part of MTV's "Madonnathon" which would culminate in the highly-anticipated new music video's debut. However, Kurt Loder took to the air to declare that it would not be shown. The reason, as he said on the air, was: "When MTV programming executives got their first look at the video's steamy bed scenes, gay and lesbian snuggling, SM and briefly bared female breasts, they decided they couldn't air it."

This banning led to another innovation by Madonna: releasing the music video as a video single which was the first time someone did this. So, once again she came out on top...just like her sexually charged music video implies!
