Our Staff Picks column takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version of Staff Picks has a decidedly skintillating angle, as we suss out which films from a particular subgenre are the best to find great nudity. This week let's cover one a skinteresting genre: foreign sci-fi!
Sci-Fi nudity is great. One might even say it's "out of this world". I'd wager that sci-fi is also hot from "outside of this country". Here are some truly hot Staff Picks for foreign sci-fi flicks.
Timecrimes
It is a hilarious title - and a little reminiscent of Community - but Timecrimes by Nacho Vigalondo is also a great sci-fi flick. This Spanish film follows a man named Hector who starts using his binoculars to spy on a woman undressing in the woods. We see that woman, Barbara Goenaga, taking off her top while she sits in the woods. While he spies on her rack and gets his jollies off, she gets attacked!
He tries to investigate the scene, but he flees when the masked attacker spots him. He runs into a scientist - as one does in the middle of the Spanish woods - who throws him into a time machine that goes back an hour. He goes back and sees himself seeing the girl! He tries not to be seen by himself as he also tries to figure out what happened to the object of his desire. It's a whopper of a time travel movie and Barbara's boobs make it all worthwhile.
World on a Wire
This 1973 made-for-TV film by Rainer Fassbender is better than it has any business being. Sure, it was a TV miniseries, but it ended up being one of his most acclaimed films! This 70s feature takes an early look at the idea that we are all living in a simulation. Move aside, Matrix. World on a Wire did it first n 1973 thanks to a German supercomputer hosting over 9,000 simulated lives of people who are blissfully unaware.
If you like simulation theory, then you will love this. You will also love the small amount of nudity in the film. Mascha Rabben goes nude in this single scene that ends with her getting slapped for being hysterical. While I don't approve of that, I do approve of her being nude from boobs to black bush. The carpet does not match the drapes for the dirty-blonde Mascha:
Aniara
If you don't know by now, I have a soft spot for Scandinavian movies. I think there's something about those endlessly dark winter days that makes strange things brew in the creative minds of people in that region. The 2018 film Aniara is a testament to that for sure. This Swedish film takes place on a spaceship from Earth going to Mars to start a new colony, but they hit an asteroid en route which knocks the ship off course. Uh oh!
There is a lot of nudity in this movie. I guess what else is one supposed to do on a spaceship that is no longer headed to its destination? Emelie Jonsson has skintastic bottomless nude scenes and she also takes a steamy sapphic shower with her co-star Bianca Cruzeiro.
Not to be outdone by her showering costars, Emma Broome goes full frontal in the sauna. Is it hot in here or is it just these Swedish sexpots? There are also a number of uncredited nude actresses who strip down to nothing for a three minute long orgy. Yeah, Aniara is a GREAT choice for skinfilled sci-fi flick. You know the saying: in space, no one can hear you have an orgy.
Evolution
Lucile Hadzihalilovic directed this intimate and gorgeous sci-fi flick from Europe (a Spanish-Belgian-French coproduction) that takes place in a small coastal village where all of the residents are young women and boys. When one of the young boys sees a dead body floating in the ocean, he wonders where it came from...and what's going on with his town's population.
I would not mind living in this town filled with gorgeous young women. Julie-Marie Parmentier shows off her hourglass figure when she wears a dripping wet dress that clings to her body. We also see her bare boobage when she undresses for an orgy. Yes, folks, we get another orgy scene. Are European sci-fi films just better at orgies? I guess so!
The Untamed
Let's dive into a modern Skin classic: the Mexican flick The Untamed. In this movie, an alien creature crash lands and disrupts a couple's lives - especially when the creature has sex with the woman. Ruth Ramos has sex with the tentacled creature in a shockingly hot scene that became pretty popular here at Skin Central. We even have an exciting behind-the-scenes look at how the scene was shot.
Ruth gets all of the attention in The Untamed, but her co-star Simone Bucio also goes nude and she looks amazing when she lays in bed in the buff. Her small, perky nipples can't be tamed either!
