Of course, our version of Staff Picks has a decidedly skintillating angle, as we suss out which films from a particular subgenre are the best to find great nudity. This week, we cover a classic: 2000s comedies.
How is a 2000s-era comedy different than any other? You've asked me the right question. As a comedy nerd and lover of nudity, the 2000s were a very particular time. 2000s-era humor is raunchy, it's male-driven, it's silly to the point of parody, and the audience is meant to be adults. This is an era where nudity reigns supreme. And why is that? Ah, you've asked another great question.
Thanks to the release of 1999's American Pie, the industry shifted back to the teen sex comedies of the early 80s and we were all gifts with a decade of ball-busting comedies with skintillating scenes. Not only that, but two additional films were released in 2000 and 2001 which shifted comedies into being seriously not serious. The 2000s also saw the rise of budding writer-director Judd Apatow and his band of actors who were all household names by the end of the 2000s.
It was a time for goofy, sexy comedy. Sure, there were outliers. Two of my favorite 2000s comedies are Wet Hot American Summer and Saved! which are sorely lacking in nudity. But they both lend themselves to the boundary-pushing skewering that became the norm for humor in this era. So, no, those two films didn't have nudity...but these films had A LOT of nudity.
Let's talk about them and how they helped define the comedy landscape in the 2000s. Here are our staff picks for laugh-out-loud movies with skintastic scenes:
The 40-Year-Old Virgin
Let's start with a really popular comedy with a very popular nude star who is currently trending. Judd Apatow's hit comedy The 40-Year-Old-Virgin put nearly everyone in it on the map. Steve Carell starred as an awkward middle-aged dude who is still a virgin. He's a nice enough guy, but he's pretty shy about sex. He doesn't even masturbate. Well, the babes in this movie help to change that!
The film stars Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Catherine Keener, and Kevin Hart in an all-star comedy roster that is only enhanced by the sexy women in the movie. One of those women is Kimberly Page who pops one tit out when she is on a date. That's more than a nip slip - that is one juicy boobie.
But the reason that I wanted to highlight this movie is because it featured Stormy Daniels. Stormy essentially plays herself and appears in a porno with her massive mams out. The blonde beauty also plays with her tits around Seth Rogen. That lucky dog!
Scary Movie
If one kind of film defined this era, it has to be Scary Movie. Scary Movie came on the heels of the 90s slasher movie craze and parodied all of them in one hilarious film. Taking inspiration from I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream, the film follows some teen stereotypes who accidentally kill a man with their car - or so they think. They then try to get rid of the body, but the guy is alive and he comes after them in a classic slasher fashion.
While the hilarious and hot Anna Faris shows her blurry buns in the movie, it's Carmen Electra who really got everyone's attention. She runs from the killer and loses her clothes, showing off her curves while wearing white lingerie. Scream? This scene makes us cream!
Old School
90s films tended to cater to teens. 2000s comedies tended to cater to middle-aged men. Hey, that's fine with us! Old School is one of those films as it centers around some suburban guys who start to yearn for the old days when they would party, get drunk, and live in a frat. When Luke Wilson leaves his girlfriend, he buys a house near a college. The housewarming party accidentally attracts college kids who assume that it's a campus house party. The guys think this is pretty cool and they fully start their own frat.
Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn are hilarious in this film, but actresses Lisa Donatz and Corinne Kingsbury take off their tops at a party and look rather porny as they prepare to wrestle for everyone's entertainment. More like skintertainment!
Zack and Miri Make a Porno
90s comedy fans love Kevin Smith movies, so it was awesome that Kevin transitioned flawlessly from his Clerks days to his more mature Zack and Miri Make a Porno in 2008. Elizabeth Banks and Seth Rogen play the titular characters and are platonic roommates who decide to make some much-needed extra cash through adult entertainment. That is an excellent way to pay those bills!
Real pornstars appeared in the film such as Katie Morgan who bent over and revealed her righteous rack. The porn scenes are hot and funny as the friends turn into lovers...by making porn together. Aw, it's a 2000s meet cute!
Not Another Teen Movie
Taking its cues from Scary Movie, Not Another Teen Movie skewered the teen comedies of the 80s and 90s. This 2001 comedy was part of a treasure trove of films that parodied entire genres. Coupled with Scary Movie, these two films in the budding years of the naughty oughties showed a real shift in cultural comedy. These ushered in provocative, boundary-pushing, the nudity filled films that harkened back to the 80s sex comedies with a modern twist.
So many teen films are mercilessly made fun of with the help of hot actresses such as Chyler Leigh, Mia Kirshner, Jesse Capelli, Jaime Pressly as an evil cheerleader, and Cerina Vincent as an innocent exchange student named Areola who is naked the entire time that she is on camera.
