Every so often a scene gets paired with a song that, for better or worse, ends up making it that much more memorable, and this Tunes-day we’re talking about a sex-filled film with a surprisingly popular soundtrack, and one song in particular that became its most iconic track.

In June of 2020, a little known Polish film made an inexplicable debut on Netflix in the number one spot of the site’s Top Ten Movie List. An erotic thriller based on a trilogy of novels admittedly inspired by the Fifty Shades of Grey series, the film 365 Days, about a kidnapping that turns into a sexy kink-fest, grabbed the attention of a world shuttered by a global pandemic and simply wouldn’t let go. While it got knocked out of the top spot a few times, the film just kept coming back to number one - for an entire month - and spawned two sequels despite some pretty scathing reviews.

What fans of the trilogy may or may not know is that the original film’s soundtrack became a viral hit as well. Four of the songs are sung by the film’s star Michele Morrone, earning him a place on Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough 25 Chart and in the Top Five of Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50, but the biggest musical hit from the film is the song “I See Red” from Texas duo Everybody Loves an Outlaw.

It’s the song that plays while Morrone and costar Anna Maria Sieklucka are shown banging all over a boat, with Anna Marie’s magnificent mams and moneymaker (plus a hint of muffin) in full view. The singer may see red but all we see are some beautiful Bs!

After the film’s release, the song reached Number 5 on Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart and nabbed the alt-country duo a deal at Columbia Records to boot. While the song definitely fits the couple’s naughty nautical nudity, it’s interesting that the band’s name also works so well. Audiences became so weirdly invested in this couple over three films it seems they forgot Morrone’s character is a Sicilian mobster who abducts her and basically tries to torture her via sex until Stockholm Syndrome sets in. Guess everybody DOES love an outlaw!
