The Norman Invasion of 1066 is the best British invasion of all time. The Beatles are the best British band of all time. Fish and chips are the best British fried food of all time. And Kate Moss is the best British model of all time.

And now, according to the new list of the 100 Best British Films from Time Out compiled by 150 experts including Sam Mendes, Wes Anderson and Sally Hawkins, Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now is the best British film of all time.

The 1973 thriller, which features a fully nude Julie Christie doing a non-simulated sex scene with Donald Sutherland, has long been in the Mr. Skin Hall of Fame.

About the pronouncement, director Roeg said of the skinfamous sex scene: "For me, sex is very rarely rude. It's a fresh thing. Sex, whether you like it or not, is the prime force of life. There is no other reason to be here."

No other reason we can think of.
