Did Mariko have sex with Anjin on the most recent episode of Shogun?

If you've been watching Shogun, you've been waiting for Mariko and Anjin to get together. Anjin (real name John Blackthorne, played by Cosmo Jarvis) is an English sailor whose marooned vessel washes up on the coast of Japan. He's instantly swept up in Japanese politics, and ends up playing an integral role in the country's fate. Mariko is his translator, and their tense exchanges loosen to banter, which loosens to flirtation, which in the most recent episode may have loosened into something more.

In episode four we see Anjin "pillowing" with a woman at night who is not his designated pillow pal, Usami Fuji (actress Moeka Hoshi). The mystery woman's face is kept covered by her long hair, and in the morning, an intentionally vague discussion between Mariko, Anjin, and Usami about the night's events only heightens our suspicion. Hopefully in episode five, we will see who pillowed who that night.

Who is the actress who plays Mariko in Shogun?

That would be the gorgeous Anna Sawai, who was born in New Zealand to parents of Japanese descent. Anna Sawai's looks are truly breathtaking. Shogun is her bona fide breakout role, but just recently she also recently starred in AppleTV+'s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Before that she played Elle in F9: The Fast Saga, and before that, she appeared in the BAFTA award-winning Giri/Haji, which is where Anna Sawai delivered her one and only nude scene!
