It's Awards Season - and that includes The Razzies. There is a weird fascination with Razzies right now. The Criterion Channel even has a collection currently that features Razzie-nominated films and it includes now beloved flicks like The Blair Witch and Showgirls and perpetually derided films like Gigli and Freddie Got Fingered.
Just because a film was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award doesn't mean that it doesn't have good bits in it. A lot of these films are FILLED with bits. The first ceremony was held as a joke in 1981 and the entire affair has endured and grown from there. While some celebrities are offended by their nominations, others have a good sense of humor about it. Paul Verhoeven, Halle Berry, and Sandra Bullock are among those who have accepted their awards.
We have decades of films to look at, so here are the Razzie-nominated nude scenes you need to see.
Ana de Armas in Blonde
Let's start with a recent one. 2022's Blonde was a highly anticipated film that focused on the life of Marilyn Monroe. It was off to a shaky start. The film starred Cuban actress Ana de Armas who only learned English a few years ago. Marilyn Monroe has a distinct way of talking that is hard to mimic for any actress, so the Cuban-accented actress struggled with it. The length of the film and the weird storytelling devices didn't help either.
One thing she didn't struggle with was going nude! She did look remarkably like Marilyn, both clothed and unclothed.
Lindsay Lohan in I Know Who Killed Me
Lindsay Lohan was a Razzie favorite for a minute. Lohan starred in the hilariously bad thriller I Know Who Killed Me which has more twists and turns than a Shyamalan film. Lohan herself also twists and turns on a stripper pole and shows a nip slip which was her first nudity on camera. It wouldn't be her last, but it's worth remembering this Razzie-nominated moment.
Bo Derek in Bolero
Oh, Bo Derek. She never stopped serving us skintastic nudity, but Bolero was such a blunder. Directed by her husband John Derek and produced by the legendarily bad movie studio Cannon Films, Bolero was a fever dream dipped in nude goodness. It is a gorgeous film to look at, mostly due to Bo's beauty, but other than that it makes zero sense. That's part of the fun!
The pair were nominated - and won! - again for Ghost Can't Do It. Maybe this pair wasn't a match made in Hollywood collaboration heaven.
Pamela Anderson in Barb Wire
The blond beauty's sendup to Barbarella was a sexy, gritty, 90s action flick that put Pam's pair in action. The film is sexy from front to back, just like its leading lady. The opening credits are set to Pamela's mamelas bursting out of a leather number with a zipper down the middle.
People didn't take it seriously, so it was nominated for Worst Picture - but it lost to Striptease! Striptease is also worth talking about as it starred Demi Moore showing off her killer body as she and other topless babes danced their way into our hearts and hard-ons.
Madonna in Swept Away
Pop star Madonna has never said "no" to a nude scene. The singer-turned-actress looks skintastic on camera, so she enjoyed showing off her body. When she was married to British director Guy Ritchie, it seemed obvious that the two would collaborate. He even directed his wifey naked on the beach. That didn't save the remake comedy from being panned by critics.
Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct 2
The first Basic Instinct from 1992 was so iconic that Sharon Stone's nude scene is parodied and referenced to this day. The same can't be said for the sequel which featured Stone's suck sacks.
This wasn't Sharon Stone's only nomination. Far from it! She was also nominated in the erotic thriller Sliver. Is it possible the Razzies just hate erotic thrillers? That's a shame, but it feels true.
