“The No Pants Day is a participatory annual event that is celebrated in various nations on the first Friday in May,” observes Wikipedia. “This time around, No Pants Day will take place on May 6th, 2016,” adds CuteCalendar.com. “The prank is based on the premise of having people take to the streets not wearing any pants. Participants are challenged to act as if there is nothing strange about not wearing pants in public.

Surely lesbian du jourCara Delevingne—the British supermodel who’s initiated a who’s who of today’s top stars into the Sapphic arts—is eager to get down…wearing a special shirt (and nothing else, above) to mark the holiday.

“If you ever feel like something’s holding you back, but aren’t sure what it is, consider this: It could be your pants,” Canada.com commented way back in 2006. “Around the world today, the young and young at heart are protesting the tyranny of trousers with No Pants Day.

“By most accounts,” the Canadians continued, “the idea was born in the mid-1980s when a small group of students at the University of Texas chose to celebrate the end of the semester in their underwear. The tradition continued for roughly 15 years, with the first Friday in May marked by a mass removal of pants.”

Said Karl-Thomas Musselman, a senior at the U of T when the concept really took off: “It’s a way to throw up your hands at the moorings of society in an acceptable way that’s just unacceptable enough. It’s grown every year—faster than anyone intended it to. We’ve even heard of people in their offices who have been proponents of very Casual Friday, needless to say.”

And needless to say, future queen Kate Middleton was shocked to encounter a stock broker at the offices of London’s mega-trading company ICAP {formerly InterCapital} who greeted her in a coat and tie…and pumps! Not one to dicker with his ticker, the reserved royal kept a stiff upper lip {though we can’t vouch for the trader’s lower pouch}! Hey Duchess—at least his ode to No Pants Day was intentional! (above right).

“Have you noticed something, ah, missing from your favorite celebs’ outfits lately?” asked Glamour magazine in March 2016. “A handful of style stars have been leaving the house with a slight omission. PANTS! OK, not so slight…they’re pants, people!

“This new trend of wearing clothing in ways unintended and foregoing pants only seems to be picking up steam, so only time will tell if the masses will follow suit. Our bets are against.” All bets are off when it comes to Sleuth, as you know…so he’s made it his mission to follow each omission of lower garb by showing each star in her birthday suit!
