The winner of 15 awards, including two from the Japanese Academy, Mitsuko Baisho studied at the Shochiku School of Dance and Music before making her debut in the samurai flick Hitokiri (1969). Over the course of her career, Mitsuko has worked with some of Japan’s most famous directors, including Akira Kurosawa and Shohei Imamura.
