Hope Clarke, not only an actress but dancer, vocalist, and choreographer, began her career in front of the footlights performing in West Side Story. She’s a real Broadway baby and has danced with Alvin Ailey, Black Nativity, and Katherine Dunham. She even choreographed Jelly’s Last Jam with Gregory Hines, which got them nominated for a Tony award. But she wins the booby prize for Book of Numbers (1973), the blaxploitation flick that is her only foray into the dance of skin. Hope’s numbers may be hidden in her early scene, but her booty is large, brown, and in charge.
