Hollywood (2020)

Dubbed by many as the "golden era" of tinseltown, in 2020 Ryan Murphy explored late 1940's Hollywood with his Netflix miniseries of the same name. Based on the biography of Scotty Bowers, a poor farm boy who managed to do a who's who of Hollywood by working as a gigolo for closeted leading men of the era, Dylan McDermott plays the show's version of Scotty, Ernie West. Ernie works at a gas station, but really makes his money by employing young men with movie dreams and teaching them the ways of turning tricks by way of sucking dicks. Three of his best employees are War vet turned fledgling actor Jack Castello (David Corenswet), the wannabe director railing Laura Harrier in his spare time, Raymond Ainsley (Darren Criss), and the screenwriter getting doors slammed in his face due to being the wrong race, Archie Coleman (Jeremy Pope). Crazily enough, they actually start getting serious opportunities thanks to the connections they make at the gas station where customers say they'd like to "go to Dreamland" to signal they're looking for ass, not gas. And since we're talking secret gay actors, of course Rock Hudson (Jake Picking) is going to come looking for a lover to slobber on Rock's cock! But selling your way into the celluloid closet isn't without its own set of problems, especially in an era where being gay was both socially unacceptable and in many cases downright criminal. Feel free to dream about landing some of the Hollywood hotties willing to flash skin in this one. Samara Weaving plays an up and coming actress named Claire Wood, who you would all day every day, especially after seeing her and Laura Harrier in a bra and panties getting measured for clothes.
