In the pantheon of epic works of science fiction that generation after generation had agreed were "unfilmable," Isaac Asimov's Foundation series had to rank at or near the top of the list. Now that we live in the age of CGI, however, producers think they can turn just about anything into a movie or television series, which is why Apple TV brought us a television miniseries adaptation of Foundation in the fall of 2021. Set in a far flung future of interstellar travel and colonized worlds beyond our imagination, Jared Harris stars as Hari Seldon, a mathematician who discovers a calculation which predicts that the end of the world as we know it is nigh. The validity of his calculations are confirmed by fellow mathematician Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell), though she's not quite as certain that the doom is inevitable and becomes convinced that a solution to their problems is achievable. In what is perhaps the biggest deviation from the source material, the villainous Emperor Cleon is split into three "clone" versions of himself, each representing a different stage of life. Together they are the young Brother Dawn (Cassian Bilton), the middle-aged Brother Day (Lee Pace), and Broadway star Terrence Mann as the wizened old man Brother Dusk, all of whom work to prevent any change to the status quo in the universe. The show is light on sexy content, what with the end of the world looming and all, but thankfully Lou Llobell spends a lot of time in skimpy underwear that nicely shows off her fit physique! If they're gonna insist on adapting this classic tale, the least they could've done is put the ASS in Asimov!
