Damned Saint (2023)

A Brazilian drama (also known as Santo Maldito), about Reinaldo (Felipe Camargo) a prep class teacher, writer, and atheist who’s wife María Clara is in a vegetative state. He makes the difficult decision to pull the plug and bring an end to her suffering, however, at that moment she suddenly wakes up. The whole harrowing ordeal was secretly being filmed by a member of a local church and the outside concensus is a miracle has occurred.Failed pastor Samuel (Augusto Madeira) then offers Reinaldo a large sum of cash to preach to his congregation, believing him to be a man enlightened by God, which Reinaldo accepts because he is now swimming in hospital bills. Over time, the once atheist transforms as his conviction weakens into a complex religious leader.
