Young Love (2001)

A love-struck thirteen-year-old plays Svengali to an aspiring twenty-something model in the Finnish coming-of-age drama Young Love (2001). Joonas Nordman stars as Jukka, a pubescent shutterbug who’s recently inherited a camera from his deceased father. Peering through the lens, Jukka is shocked to discover that the girl he’s infatuated with (Saija Lentonen) is a victim of abuse by her stepfather. Jukka intercedes and saves the day, thereby staking a claim on the blossoming beauty. By putting himself in charge of Johanna’s (Lentonen) modeling career, Jukka hopes he’ll be rewarded with affection. Surprisingly it sort of works out––Lentonen proves completely immodest about dropping her top to pout for the slobbering young shutterbug.
