Vorsicht Schwiegermutter! (2005)

A pretty young bride meets her match in her husband-to-be’s domineering mother in the romantic German comedy Vorsicht Schwiegermutter! (2005). With her sharp features and overbearing manner, Gerlinde (Adele Neuhauser) gives new meaning to the term “monster-in-law”. The gruff mom’s sure that her darling son Lutz (Arne Lenk) is too good for Rebecca (Katharina Schüttler), the well-meaning young girl he’s chosen to marry. As a result, Gerlinde makes life hell for the poor bride-to-be, even going so far to disrupt her nuptials. Arne might want to think about telling his mom to cool it, since anything keeping him from a honeymoon with the delectable Schüttler is a true travesty.
