Adam & Eve, Caesar & Cleopatra, Napoleon & Joséphine, Bonnie & Clyde, Liz & Dick, Sonny & Cher, Vita & Virginia. Okay, so the last couple isn’t as well-known as the others. But that doesn’t mean they’re not sexy! Based on the same-named play by actress Eileen Atkins, Vita & Virginia (2018) covers the affair between Virginia Woolf (Elizabeth Debicki) and Vita Sackville-West (Gemma Arterton). In addition to being writers, both of these British babes were scissor-sisters! Have we earned your interest now? How about if we tell you the 1920s-set romance also includes Emerald Fennell, Isabella Rossellini, Karla Crome, and Ms. Arterton’s awesome chest! During a darkly-lit scene, she and Ms. Debicki appear topless in bed. We’d love to say they enjoy graphic Sapphic action, but mostly they just talk. At least, Gemma strokes Elizabeth’s nipple. But unfortunately, neither of these lovely ladies let us see their pieces of ass in this period piece. No wonder, it’s called a costume drama! One wonders if Eva Green, who was initially cast as Woolf, would have flashed more flesh. Or, if Andrea Riseborough (who was slated to replace Eva due to scheduling conflicts) might have shed her threads. It’s not that we’re displeased with Debicki. We just wish she would have exposed more of her body. Nevertheless, the British Independent Film Awards were impressed since they nominated her for Best Supporting Actress. Yet we support performers who boldly reveal their racks on camera. Vita & Virginia? More like Mr. Skin & his imagination.
