Born Vanessa Joy Minnillo at USAF Clark Regional Medical Center in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines, Vanessa Lachey is an army brat who grew up to be a TV sensation. She moved often as a child, living in Washington, California, Nevada, Florida, Germany, and Japan and attending eight different schools in nine years. If you need proof of this international star's American appeal, consider the fact that she was crowned Miss Teen South Carolina and then Miss Teen USA in 1998. Sadly, she has yet to unpeel and become Miss Skin. After a stint as spokeswoman for The Partnership against Drugs, Vanessa parlayed an appearance on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee into a host gig on Fox's Sports Net and a part on the daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful (2001). She was a runner-up to replace Brooke Burke on E!'s Wild On, but she did get to hang out at the MTV Beach House in 2003, which led to landing a regular VJ spot on Total Request Live and a fling with New York Yankee Derek Jeter.
