Not to be confused with the rip-roaring Annette Funicello drag-racing movie of the same name, J.S. Cardone’s Thunder Alley (1985) is a cautionary tale about the perils of rock ‘n’ roll stardom. The film stars Scott McGinnis as the charismatic front man for a rock band that rockets to stardom sooner than its members can get a grip on what’s going on. Sudden success breeds trouble, however, as Donnie (McGinnis) and his pals succumb to the allure of cocaine binges, shrieking groupies, and all-night parties. All said, it’s pretty tough to fault the guy for putting his ax down after the show and seizing the opportunity to shag the likes of Melanie Kinnaman and Jill Schoelen, both of whom throw themselves at the rock star with gusto.
