Artists in three different mediums fashion works of art from the raw material they observe on a subway car in the arthouse drama Three and a Half (2002). Directed by Sarajevo-born exile Boris Mojsovski, the Canadian film utilizes the same set of actors and actresses in three different scenarios envisioned by a writer, a filmmaker, and a painter. The vignettes deal with issues as diverse as immigration, closeted homosexuality, stalled careers, and feelings of inadequacy, but not all of the content is relentlessly dire. Actress Kim Huffman, for example, seems pleased to be pleasuring herself in the low-budget indie’s most pulse-quickening scenes.
