Property agents swear the three most important things in real estate are location, location, location. But Mr. Skin says it’s really fornication, fornication, fornication. Least ways, that’s the case in François Truffaut’s romantic drama The Woman Next Door (1981). Also known as La Femme d’à côté, the French film follows Bernard Coudray (Gérard Depardieu) who is happily married to Arlette (Michèle Baumgartner). That is, until Mathilde Bauchard (Fanny Ardant) moves in next door. Despite having a hubby (Henri Garcin) of her own, the sexy brunette is drawn to Bernard. That’s because he used to tap her in the past. Needless to say, old habits die hard — or, more specifically, certain old things don’t stop getting hard for old lovers. When the two have a secret rendezvous in a hotel room, Ms. Ardant’s bare breast pops out of her open blouse. If that’s not titillating enough, the alluring actress can later be seen twirling around in a floral dress. Her graceful moves prove she has no panties on! As a result, we’re treated to a view of Fanny’s fantastic bush. No wonder the foreign flick was a hit in France. In fact, it ranked as the 39th highest-grossing movie in its homeland in 1981. Since then, Fanny flashed her flesh in Elizabeth (1998), L’Odore del sangue (2004), The Secrets (2007), and Bright Days Ahead (2013). But by now, her bare days are behind. So we definitely appreciate the skin she displayed in The Woman Next Door. Now to join the neighborhood watch!
