weeks dvd 4.24.12

We've got a right proper crop of British beauties getting their kits off (that's "naked" to us Yanks) this week on DVD and Blu-ray: First, a blonde by the extremely British name of Honeysuckle Weeks seduces an eager young missionary in the horror-comedy The Wicker Tree (2011). Then, English rose Jessica Brown Findlay flashes a pair of IDs in the indie drama Albatross (2011). After that, British style icon Marianne Faithfull keeps the faith by showing skin in the groovy '60s flick Girl on a Motorcycle (1968),and finally UK sexploitation star (and former fling of Prince Andrew) Koo Stark is put through her paces in the Marquis de Sade adaptation Justine (1977).

Also nude on Blu-ray, the Italians see your Justine and raise you one Killer Nun (1978), starring Anita Ekberg as the titular sister and the densely-thicketed Paola Morra as her frequently nude prey:

nichol dvd 4.24.12The ‘70s classic The Wicker Man gets a darkly comedic update in The Wicker Tree (2011). Young missionaries Beth (Brittania Nicol) and Steve (Henry Garrett) travel from Texas to Scotland to spread the word of God to the local heathens. At first they are turned away at every doorstep but then they arrive in the small pagan town of Tressock, where they are welcomed with open arms. As the townsfolk convince Beth to be the May Queen for their upcoming “ceremonies”, Steve is being talked out of his chastity ring by local sexpot Lolly (Honeysuckle Weeks). Will these young rubes escape their sacrificial fate? Probably not. Brittania bares stunt buns as the comely Christian, and irresistible blonde Honeysuckle shows off her suckle stalks, easily persuading our young zealot to give up his purity. The Wicker Tree is sure to give you wood!

When you hang out with alcoholic train wrecks, there's going to be a crash at some point. It’s a tough lesson to learn, but one that is learned well by the heroine of Albatross (2011). Beth (Felicity Jones) is a shy and bookish 17-year-old who is fascinated with Emilia (Jessica Brown Findlay), the brash, rebellious new girl in town. The two quickly bond, and soon Emilia is part of the family, even getting lessons in creative writing from Beth’s dad Jonathan (Sebastian Koch). But when Beth finds out that Daddy Dearest has been dipping his quill into Emilia, the foundation of their friendship is shattered. Jessica shows why rebel girls rule when she shows a pair of IDs (that's Incredible Dairies) to a clerk at the liquor store. Now that's our kind of double shot!

Mick Jagger arm-candy and '60s chanteuse Marianne Faithfull is a married woman who wakes up one morning and decides to leave her husband for her old lover in The Girl on a Motorcycle (1968). When she zips up her leather bodysuit and hops on her hog, you'll envy the vibrating seat beneath her. From that point on, Marianne just rides her motorcycle. Or rather, she rides a stationary bike while rear-projection of the countryside flies by her. There are plenty of flashbacks, and that's where we get to see more of Marianne's body. The film may be faithfull dvd 4.24.12selling Marianne as a sort of female Wild One, but Mr Skin will go one better and call her the Evel Knievel of poon! Does she ever get where she's going? Who cares? She's naked under leather!

If you know about the Marquis de Sade, then you already know what you're in for with Justine, aka Cruel Passion (1977). If not, then get ready for the most depraved surprise of your life. Either way, what you should know is that this version of the sadistic Marquis' saga of an innocent defiled stars British sexploitation sensation Koo Stark, who shows off every inch as the titular Justine. This lovely English rose blooms behind the walls of a nunnery, but that does not make her safe from aggressive sexual mistreatment. Oh, no. After being repeatedly assaulted by the Sapphic sisters of the convent, Justine escapes to the home of a pastor whom she hopes will offer her protection. But this being a de Sade story, the good Reverend has some lecherous intentions of his own...

Swedish bombshell Anita Ekberg may be an unconventional casting choice to play a nun, but the protagonist in Giulio Berruti’s off-the-wall cult oddity isn’t your average Sister--she’s a Killer Nun (1978). The mentally deranged Sister Gertrude gets her kicks through morphine abuse, Sapphic seduction, and torture until a concerned Mother Superior (Alida Valli) halts her in her tracks. Luigi Casellato, Joe Dallesandro, and Massimo Serato join an ensemble cast of B-movie regulars, but this show belongs to Ekberg and co-star Paola Morra. Their scandalous scenes of lesbian love should leave you with plenty to confess on Sunday.
